Berries and rain

the black raspberries are starting already! must be the excess rain we have been getting. Today we got another inch....in a few hours. Now it is very foggy out - humid. But, the boys and I still took our walk this evening.
I have picked a handfull of berries again tonight. I don't think I'll be able to keep up with them. Anyone wanting to help pick them? Come on up.

Mowed the trails Saturday - here's how they look

The boys and I walk the trails two or three times a day. They look especially pretty after I mowed them.

Animal Antics

No photos with these observances.
Today, the black squirrel tried to get at the suspended birdfeeders. He got held up at the platters, and wrapped himself around the pvc pipe, then hit the ground. He tried this a couple times, then gave up.
I'll have to take a photo of our suspended bird feeders to post later.

Then, out the front window, I had put out the morning supply of peanuts and sunflower seeds for the squirrels.
The grey squirrel was being a piggy, and the pine squirrel jumped him - fur flew, and the little pine squirrel won that round. The grey limped away, and waited until the pine squirrel finished. The grey probably snacked off the deck & ground, because a lot of seed went flying along with the fur. Animals seem to be getting grumpy!
I wasn't prepared to video any of this. Darn.

More June Flowers in the woods

Walking in the woods, discovering flowers everywhere.
Peonies along the south trail (more were under the pines in the front yard)
A couple of the reseeded foxglove plants in the shady bed behind the pond.
Campanula or bell flowers in the sunny pond bed...and more along the gravel by the lower patio
The front lily bed starting to bloom. All the lilies are the same color - I thought they used to be different colors earlier years.
 More campanula (bell flowers)
Is this bee balm in the sunny pond bed?
And what is this in the sunny pond bed?
Fire pink in the perennial bed next to the garage.
Look how tall the tomato plant is...there are some tomatoes forming.
That's all I get to see now. Something different every few days. Good thing the boys make me take two walks a day.

more flowers we miss when we go to Alaska

 Yellow iris in the woods
more yellow iris in the woods. And initial shots of the bell flowers.

More bell flowers.

New delphiniums from Gays Mills. One pot had both white and blue flowers in it.

I am not sure what kind of flower/bush this is. Haven't been around to see the flowers other years.

new foxgloves from Gays Mills...after we planted these, I discovered more foxgloves from ones we transplanted when we bought the house.

The pond gardens from all directions, showing the variety of flowers/plants we have in those plantings.

Purple iris around the waterfall.
Water lilies in the pond.
